Are you unsure of the career path you would like to pursue after graduating from LAVC? Or did you start with a very defined career goal, but your interests and 值 have changed as you progressed through school? If your answer to either of these questions is “yes”, then it’s time to start strategically exploring career options. 职业生涯 exploration improves students’ knowledge of career options, encouraging them to develop and work toward goals. Students who have this knowledge are better prepared to identify next steps in postsecondary schooling or other means leading to a future career. During the different phases of exploration, students may take part in a variety of activities that can assist in figuring out their unique interests, 值, 技能, 和天赋.
Some of these activities include:
工作见习 allows you to explore a career by observing a professional in the field and learn about their work environment, and what the field entails.
Informational Interview 是简短的, typically face-to-face meeting with a person who is working in a position or industry you are interested in.
Hands-on Experience includes Cooperative Education, Service Learning, internships, and more.
